Masterfully written by David Castro and simplistic yet highly specific direction by Dennis Neal, guide Tim Powell's performance through this challenging and difficult subject matter with excellent comedic timing, smooth transitions, and genuine voice characterization. Tim Powell NAILS all nine of his characters! Janie Michele Simms gives a heartfelt performance. A MUST see!!! ... full review

Man's Dominion asks us to reflect on the staggering question of liberty, and what it means to "have a right". Expertly written and unapologetic, it is easy to see why alert audience members may find themselves derailed of sturdy opinions, as we are guided through the perspective of many characters fixated on deciphering their own answer to the question. The lynching of an elephant may seem grandiose and impersonal to us at first, but the heart of this play is relevant and mind-bending. The lingering effects of the power of choice and results of action resound through ourselves are we are left sympathetic and dually horrified at the many faces of humanity.... full review

Man's Dominion is without a doubt one of the CAN'T MISS shows this year at the Hollywood Fringe. I went to see it this Sunday evening and was absolutely blown away. Tim Powell effortlessly inhabits character after character and does so with such ease, commitment, grace, and seamlessness that I sat in wonder at the depth of his ability to transmit the experience of each individual character to the audience. By the end I was brought to tears as he became what would be his last two characters. A true tour de force! David Castro's writing is as sharp as a tack. At times brilliantly comedic and in the next moment devastating. The depth of observation and imagination in his script is almost unbelievable, but I saw it and heard it and felt it... full review

Man's Dominion is a daring journey back in time to rural Tennessee. It's daring in the sense that it addresses a number of currently controversial areas which, at the time, were not very controversial. While the material is not shocking, it is certainly alarming. It's daring in the sense that when you already know how the story ends based on the promotional materials, then you have to provide compelling enough content to hold the attention of the audience which may or may not already be uncomfortable with some of he references. And it's daring in the sense that ONE ACTOR has the job of playing every character, often revolving the fully fleshed out characters around each other creating a storytelling web from which I did not want to i... full review

Anyone can tell a story. Storytellers are those that tell good stories. And every so often you encounter one who can tell you the story within the story. One that reveals the unseen and unspoken currents that give life to a story, when you encounter such a master, you lean in, listen and pay close attention. Man’s Dominion is one of these rare encounters. Lean in, listen and prepare yourself to see the current. ... full review
