My overall impression
This is no one man show ramblings of the difficulties of coming of age – Mike Rad delivers a raw, heart felt, INTERESTING, view of growing up under the gaze of his adoring uncle, a hard lived – no bullshit but beloved tug boat captain of the New York Waterways. The family’s immigrant Croatian culture of singing, cooking and story telling is the background for Rad’s homage to his (still today), knight in shining armor. You’ll leave the theatre with a fondness for not only the galvanic Mike Rad but also for his incomparable Uncle Jimmy.
