Set in 1987, One Up: The Musical is an original eighties musical that follows Bryson, an ambitious but untested female video game programmer, who develops her own game and learns the importance of community… and the cost of unbridled ambition.
Featuring fifteen brand new songs by Matt Dahan (creator of Pulp Musicals and music director of acclaimed theater company Team Starkid) and creative consultation by Dona Bailey (co-creator of the iconic arcade game Centipede), One Up: The Musical is an unabashed musical-lover’s musical, fusing heartfelt storytelling with gaming nostalgia and laugh-out-loud humor, set to a synth-pop soundtrack as captivating as the classic video games that inspired the show.
