Today from 4-4:50pm James Schneider will be interviewed by Sterling and Stroli for ‘State of the Arts’ on LARadio.com. You may hear it live, or soon after as a streaming podcast. Schneider will discuss his solo show subtitled, ‘a soul monologue with music.’ It features true stories involving some very famous strangers that Schneider met as 12-14 year old. Plus, original, bluesy-pop songs that he plays and sings on piano.

James Schneider is ‘a true performer,’ and ‘that always interesting musician-actor,’ according to Richard Christensen of the Chicago Tribune.

In addition to CGTG, Schneider performs a separate scripted piece, ALL MY PRESIDENTS at iO West. (Next show June 19th, 8:30pm) Last year at Fringe, debuted FULL FRONTAL MUSIC, a grown-up show with songs and monologues about Modern Man staying connected to being a Guy without being a &*%#. This played Theatre Asylum Lab, where Schneider performs the new updated version of ‘CLOWNS, GODDESSES & TOUGH GUYS’ through June 24th.

Longtime writer/performer with The Write Club, headed by Paula Killen, where he debuted several monologues and songs in Hollywood.

Appears in ‘Oceans 12,’ and several shorts, including The Seventh Man, In Search of Work, and Roadside Sex.

Released a couple original CDs on the Full Frontal Music label (Clowns, Goddesses & Tough Guys; Peachy.) These were produced by Scott Bennett. The bluesy-pop songs on the two albums were written by Schneider. The one cover song was the theme song from ‘Baretta, (Keep Your Eye on the Sparrow.’

Adapted and performed (with Scott Bennett – Brian Wilson Band, and now, Beach Boys) a workshop production of Elvis Costello’s IMPERIAL BEDROOM. This anticipated the ‘Juke Box Rock Musicals’ that today play Broadway and beyond. After securing a merely a limited rights agreement to that piece that inspired Schneider to begin writing and performing original material.

Has written Shoeless Joe, a musical about the 1919 Chicago Blacksox scandal which he plans to produce in time for the Centennial. A veteran of Chicago theatre, he performed with numerous companies including: Famous Door; Remains; American Blues; Stormfield. Has written songs for and music-directed other shows in L.A. for the Virginia Avenue Project.
