HOLLYWOOD, CA: Meg Lin’s autobiographical solo show, “What Am I, Chopped Suey?,” world premiered at the 2022 Hollywood Fringe Festival and has already won its first award as an official winner of The Hollywood Encore Producers’ Award. So if you missed the show at the Fringe, you have two more chances to watch this show described as “an honest, vulnerable, and hilarious show” with “a unique point of view about the Asian-American experience” that’s “deeply personal, yet universally relatable.”

The first in her family born in the U.S., Meg Lin shares a raw personal account of growing up Chinese American that is both heart-warming and heart-wrenching. Defying cultural norms to “save face,” Meg bares it all and shares her darkest pain and deepest desires in this one woman show. Get ready to laugh, cry, and hear stories inspired by true events in Meg’s life that will challenge stereotypes and redefine what it means to be Asian in America.

Watch the one-hour show LIVE in person at the Howard Fine Acting Studio (Main Stage) on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 7:00 pm PT OR purchase access to the recording of the encore performance that will be available for viewing online ON DEMAND from ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD starting Sunday, July 10, 2022 at 6:30 pm PT (patrons who purchase access to the virtual performance will be able to watch the recording on their own time through the end of July 2022).

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:

“What Am I, Chopped Suey?” was written, directed, and performed by Meg Lin, and produced by Zen Birds Productions, LLC. Meg is an award-winning actor, writer, and filmmaker. She co-wrote, co-produced, and co-starred in a short film, “Victoria’s Manor,” that won Best Indie Short Film for the month of May 2022 in the 1st Monthly Film Festival for being “a wonderful cinematic experience with great performances and narrative.” Prior to working in the entertainment industry, Meg was a former K-12 teacher, school principal, and non-profit CEO.
