LOVE THE SORCERER by John R Lacey

view project

Hispanic author John Rivera Lacey has written the story of young painter Salvador Dali as he meets poet Federico Garcia Lorca and film-maker Luis Buñuel at the Artists’ Residence in Madrid in the Roaring Twenties. Lorca is gay and romances Dali with andalucian flamenco but provincial Buñuel is not about to let his friend be corrupted by such immorality. He introduces Dali to Mrs. Paul Eluard, wife of the french surrealist writer, to promote his friend’s art but he becomes infatuated with his new Muse, rechristening her Gala- his first woman! She immediately abandons husband and daughter and takes Dali down a dark path of commercial success and sexual exploration.

Lacey’s recent work includes “Gardel’s Tango” at The Zephyr Theatre (now available through Amazon Publishing), “Showdown at the Temple of Meat” at Greenway Court Theatre and “The Tango Singer” at Theatre West.
