AARON FRANCIS’S JOURNEY

Journey

view project
In 2018 Aaron Francis premiered a short play in Sacred Fools’s late night episodic show Serial Killers and he has adapted the work into a full 45 minute piece of theater for this World Premiere run.

The show is about a couple of scientists on their way to a distant world to begin terra-forming it for the arrival of colonists who aren’t far behind them. The long space journey can only be achieved by placing the astronauts into a cryo-sleep for the majority of the trip. But on this unfortunate trek, something woke our couple up a few years too early, and now that they’re awake and can’t get back to sleep, they have to spend all of their time stuck in a tiny ship for way longer than they anticipated. So now these two that used to be a loving couple have grown to hate each other. And when an emergency pops up, it’s anybody’s guess if they can put their animosity aside for long enough to save themselves.

Aaron Francis has been directing, writing and designing plays in Los Angeles for over 20 years. He is a member of both Sacred Fools and Theatre Movement Bazaar. His work on Crazyface by Clive Barker got him a Garland Award Honorable Mention for both Direction and Scenic Design.

The cast consists of Amir Talai, Carrie Keranen and Bridget Murray.

Amir Talai is a comedian, actor and writer known for The Circle (2017), What to Expect When You’re Expecting (2012), and Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008).
Carrie Keranen is a voice actress, producer, production manager, and voice director. She is known for her work on Puella Magi Madoka Magica (2011), KILL La KILL (2013), Mobile Suit Gundam Seed (2002), and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir (2015).
Bridget Murray is an actress, known for Dyscrasia (2017) and IRL (2019).
