Los Angeles, CA (June 13th, 2019) – Hollywood Fringe Festival and the Actor’s Company present Dear Mom, Sorry For Being a Bitch! Created and directed by Christine Covode, she takes you back to adolescence with all its bumps and bruises in a very genuine and heartfelt performance. Her relationship with her mother is complicated and serves as a vehicle for discovering her complicated self. At once funny and sad the journey she takes you on is both personal and universal.
Her comedic skills are on full display as well as her clear passion for the show. The experience of watching this taps into somewhat of a universal experience with mother-daughter relationships. She wants to keep her mother at a distance but can’t help but refer to her all along the way. Starting at age ten, she takes you on this journey with friends, boyfriends and counselors arriving at present day.
Christine’s show works on the audience in layers—if something doesn’t stick, something else will. Her coming-of-age approach explores the weird times, the times you’d rather forget, and how the person who often shoulders the blame / outrage for life’s journey toward adulthood is often the same person who sticks around to help pick up the pieces. Her truly universal content forms a bridge for everyone to explore life’s sometimes messy back pages. She presents a uniquely hilarious and touching account of her journey.
