“REWIND” TO HAVE A SIX NIGHT RUN AT THE 2019 HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL

REWIND - A New 80's Pop Musical

view project

For immediate release: June 1, 2019 Hollywood, CA. Casting is complete and rehearsals are in full swing for “REWIND – A New 80s Musical” – the Roze Broze penned 80’s themed musical playing for six performances at this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival. The writing team of twin brothers Geoffrey and Sam Rose, along with director Nancy Dobbs Owen, has assembled a terrific cast including (in alphabetical order): Megan Beard, Nelson Hayne, Chris Kerrigan, Natalie Miller, Thomas Adoue Polk, David Šášik and Suzanne Slade.

Writer/producers’ Rose brothers musical milestones include a top 10 adult contemporary hit, “Nothing But the Radio On,” for Dave Koz; “The Ride,” a song they wrote and recorded for the first Karate Kid movie, and “Be There Now,” a Super Bowl commercial jingle for J. Walter Thompson, the title of which was adopted by Sprint, the “Now” Network.

“REWIND,” a tale of love, redemption and the magic of second chances, tells the story of a powerful music producer who derails a young girl’s promising singing career, and she spends the next 50 years waiting tables. When the producer meets an untimely end he is barred from heaven. To gain entrance he must, with a little help from the Universe, rewind time and help her reclaim her true destiny.

Brimming with nostalgia and packed with original 80’s style pop music, the score, book and lyrics are a love letter to one of music’s most remarkable decades. Playing at the Actors Company Let Live Theatre, June 9th, 11th, 16th, 21st., 27th and 29th.

Tickets are available at hff19.org/5799.
