Too Blunt!
Confessions of a Black Gay Child

Los Angeles, California, May 13, 2019

Kelvin Blunt’s one-person odyssey will make its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June!

Too Blunt! is an autobiographical peek into the life of an African-American, gay parent of a three-legged cat. Kelvin shares his eventful experiences with weight loss and gain, dating in the gay-app era, and being a “daddy” while having daddy issues.

Kelvin Blunt’s one-person show unpacks the complex intersectionality of race and sexual orientation, with twists of humor, irreverence, and heartbreak. Too Blunt! also explores Kelvin’s life-long adoration of Janet Jackson and an omnipotent, gospel-loving mother.

Kelvin is a native of Kansas City, Missouri and the recipient of numerous awards to include the John Goodman Professional Performance award. He has numerous acting credits on-stage and in film, TV, and music videos. Kelvin worked as Associate Producer at E! Entertainment where he wrote and segment-produced for many of E!’s top-rated shows. He has also worked behind-the-scenes at Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks, Redbox, and at various non-profit organizations.

Too Blunt! opens on Thursday, June 6th at 8:30 pm and runs through the month of June to commemorate LGBT Pride month in Los Angeles. Additional dates: June 16th at 4:00 PM; June 20th at 8:30 PM; June 22nd at 6:00 PM and June 29th at 8:00 PM.
