ALEXA, TURN OFF HEARTBREAK

LOS ANGELES, May 1, 2018 — Alexa, Turn Off Heartbreak is due to make it’s premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, this year, whether the public wants them to or not. Tara Erickson and Sasha Boggs are proclaimed to be 2 of the Top 10 female comics to see in LA by Erickson/Boggs Magazine.
Tara and Sasha combine life failures and sketch comedy in this hilarious trip through an alternate reality in the land of dating.
Their process consists of Sasha repeatedly asking Tara if she recognizes this movie quote and Tara repeatedly saying she does not. It also consists of Sasha watching Tara, in horror, as she fervently vacuums the couch for the 3rd time to rid herself of her daily bumble rejections…and pounding wine.
“If we both don’t end up married after this show’s run, then Los Angeles has lost its taste for class” Tara said.
Tara is an actress and Youtuber, known for reenacting movie trailers with dinosaur toys and cardboard boxes. Sasha is an actress and comedian, most recently seen on American Horror Story. Tara and Sasha were trained in improv and sketch comedy from UCB and Groundlings and met doing stand up comedy.
ALEXA, TURN OFF HEARTBREAK is directed by both Tara Erickson and Sasha Boggs. “If Denzel Washington can direct himself in FENCES and win a SAG award, then we can certainly do the same, with or without Viola.” they stated. “We’ve emailed her plenty.”
“You’re still single?” said Sasha’s mom.
“Wow, I betcha people will be lining up for this! Unfortunately, I won’t be in town” said Tara’s boss.
ALEXA, TURN OFF HEARTBREAK plays at Studio C, aka Theater Asylum, which is a home away from home for both women, after they saw Tom Hanks walking across the street from the theater one night. They later found out it wasn’t him.
“I feel like I’m hanging out with one of my guy friends” said Sasha’s ex.
“I can’t spend my life with a Youtuber” said Tara’s ex.
“Those are just a few of the inspirational moments that helped us cultivate ALEXA, TURN OFF HEARTBREAK” said Erickson and Boggs.
The show is co-produced, written and performed by both Tara Erickson and Sasha Boggs, actors, comedians, writers and overall jazzy women. Their sketches can be seen on Youtube, Funny or Die Who Haha and all over Tara’s overly enthusiastic aunt’s facebook page.
