Kathleen Rubin

A former opera singer and Jersey Girl, I discovered my true passion for directing 10 years ago when I directed the world premiere of “Did You Do Your Homework?” at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. I have since directed several world premieres including three by Bob Colleary: “Cannibals”, “Addition By Subtraction”, and “Happy Face/Sad Face”; and solo shows “Inside Out – a one person show in two persons” by Jody Vaclav, “Exposed” by Sophia Louisa Lee, along with classics “Wait Until Dark” and most recently “Proof” at the Lounge Theatre.

But I am most proud of IT’S JUST MY LIFE and the IJML Story Workshop in which I develop women’s stories and brings them to life on stage. Upcoming IJML performances and workshops include the Downtown Women’s Center in May and June, the Gonda Fountinview in July and an appearance at LA Made, the cultural series of the Los Angeles Public Library, October 21st. The IJML Fall Story Workshop will begin in September. More to come!

NOW, MORE THAN EVER, WOMEN’S VOICES NEED TO BE HEARD!
