In this participatory workshop with internationally acclaimed physical theatre artists Jordan Rosin and Yokko, students will use principles from diverse theatrical traditions like Butoh Dance to cultivate the awareness, creativity and articulation necessary to move, devise, & dance with resonance.

This is the hybrid show of live performance and film. Exploring the journey to discover Ikigai, a “reason living”. This production invites the audience to experience all the turbulence of emotions through two human bodies by using Butoh (a Japanese avant-garde dance form), visual art and film .

The accursed spirit of Lady Macbeth invites the audience to experience her nightmare of stifled ambition, unfulfilled desire, and ultimate loss by using Japanese Butoh dance, movement and various texts.

Adapting Greek Myth and Euripides' Medea and using Japanese Butoh dance , Yokko brings the spirit of Medea alive. This fusion of Eastern dance and Western drama invites the audience inside Medea’s dark, desperate struggle. Trapped in the underworld, she is forever cursed to relive her tragic life.

In this intensive workshop with Jordan Rosin and Yokko, participants will utilize principles from physical theatre traditions like Butoh Dance to cultivate an awareness, availability, and responsiveness that will allow them to speak, move, and act with resonance in the dynamic space of the stage.

The SAMURAI kills with his sword for the first time. His values are broken away when he faced to the reality at the field of death. “What am I?” “Why do I take my sword for?” “What is 義/Gi” This play asks us what is the true meaning of a life.
