Rachel Park
Rachel Park is a Los Angeles based director, writer, and content creator focused primarily on new works development and international collaborations. Recent directing credits include: En Attendant Godot (REDCAT Gallery for Agency Assembly), Coyote Comes (École de la Comédie de Saint-Étienne), The Government Inspector (CalArts), Goose (Edinburgh Fringe), Leakages and Anticoagulants (world premiere at CalArts), and Internal Bleeding (REDCAT Studio), among others. She has also assistant directed on: Nightwalk in the Chinese Garden for Stan Lai (The Huntington Gardens) and Prometheus Bound for Travis Preston (The Getty Villa), both in association with the CalArts Center for New Performance, and Cooking Oil (Atwater Village Theater) for Los Angeles Performance Practice. During her time in LA she has also worked as a teacher, themed entertainment writer and coordinator, and communications strategist for companies large and small, thinking about creative place-making and global connectivity made possible through new technologies.
Prior to coming to LA, Park was based out of New York where she worked as a producing associate with Page 73 Productions (Edgewise, CommComm) and co-producer on the new play All the Windows on Alcatraz for the NY International Fringe Festival. Select NY/Boston directing credits include: Nothing and Not Much: stories about the universe (Working Theater), Team Awesome (Under St. Mark’s), and The Elephant in the Room: a night of new work (ImprovBoston). Assistant directing on: The Glass Menagerie (Boston Center for American Performance) and The Visit (The Huntington Theatre). Rachel also spent time working as the assistant to the artistic director of Camden People’s Theatre in London and was as an ensemble leader and director for Boston University’s Summer Theatre Institute.
She holds an MFA in Directing from California Institute of the Arts and a BFA in Theatre Arts from Boston University. She is a San Antonio native and lover of books made from paper. More information on Ms. Park can be found at her website: www.rsvpark.com.
