A fun production with a stellar cast. This musical adaptation doesn't stick play-by-play to the original film's story line (as thin as that story line was) but the real essence of The Toxic Avenger is the comical and over-the-top tone of the film, which is definitely here. The musical has playfully added in elements of modern day anxiety about pollution and global warming, which fits this retelling of the story.
