What a great cast. Very tight and very funny. Very clear characters and very well defined. I gotta quit saying very. Focus is ever shifting on to a different character and they all work quite well together with no upstaging and beautiful connections. The clown seems to be a plot device and then we end up having a wonderful human character a beautifully understated performance which is wonderful behind that clown makeup. I don't have kids and don't know that world but like all good plays it doesn'... full review

This is a show that could have been whiny and irritating and could easily have gone in the wrong direction. Our lead is a Charlie Brown sort(His name is Charlie) but the actor keeps him likable throughout the show. A difficult task when playing this conflicted character. Much credit to the director too for keeping it light. His supporting actors really pump the show up with calm, deft, sharp acting. Not all characters need to be stars and they support not only the script but they support Charlie ... full review

Terror on The High Seas

Great engagement with the audience. Les's joy is palpable and immediately infuses his audience and we are on his journey with him. I hate the use of the word "journey " in Solo Shows but LES TAKES A JOURNEY! A real one...it's just a cruise....but it's a cruise with his Republican In-Laws. Whoa. It's a ride. He might have a hard time with them personally but he DOES NOT have a problem with them as an actor....he portrays them honestly and humorously and dare I say it....lovingly. This is the payo... full review

Home Girl

This show has a delightful concept where the lead character is played by BOTH actors and the other one plays the other character in each scene. IT isn't confusing at all and so well done it really points up a feeling of the lead being an "every man" sort of figure. They also keep it clear if a character is recurring in that the same actor will play THAT character again to avoid confusion. The opening scene is flawless as we meet our lead flying back to Boston and this horrid woman sits down that ... full review

What They Said About Love

Mr. Budd is an amazing actor that has an amazing command of character and this show is a perfect showcase. It starts out documentary style with a bunch of couples discussing their relationships, love, commitment, compromising etc. One of the things Steve does is move quickly into characters but carefully sets them up by grounding himself like turning the chair around or leaning in. If you are thinking of doing a one man show this is the man to watch on switching into characters: Quick YET careful... full review

MUNGO!

I knew nothing about Mungo. Nothing. And I was never bored. I wanted to know more. It was simply written and simply acted. That said it was NOT simple. It was sharp, smart, witty and funny. To be able to play off simple requires very professional commitment and this team has it in spades. That is a huge credit to the writing and acting. Placing Mungo as a sort of ghost returning to this corner in North Carolina (I thin it was north!) once a year on his birthday was a delightful invocation to this... full review

Bono and The Edge Waiting for Godomino's

What a great idea. Are you a fan of U2....you will love this! Are you a fan of WAITING FOR GODOT? Unless you are a Godot Fan Geek (does this even exist) then you will love it! Scared that you don't know U2 well enough....don't be! This is satire on Fame and The Edge and Bono are so funny, so tight, comic timing just spot on that you could have NO IDEA who these two men are and still enjoy about 90% of the jokes. Never seen GODOT? Shame on you. Then you will get a very clear idea of what this pla... full review

A Harmony Boys Christmas

When you come to a comedy/musical you expect to see a singer that acts all right or an actor who can sort of carry a tune. NOT TRUE AT ALL. You have four men with amazing voices and the ability to harmonize beautifully. And then when they open their mouths you get four fantastic actors with comic timing. The harmony in their acting is blended as seamlessly in their acting letting each voice shine and supporting whomever is taking the stage. I went through the night proclaiming "He is definitely m... full review

Robot Monster the Musical

PREVIEW PERFORMANCE: I loved the B movie aspect of the piece. The actor that played Roy and the Little Boy were a shear delight and really got the mood of the piece. The little girl was also quite delightful. Let the monster sing!!! (If not at the Fringe....beyond!) Cut some numbers for the sake of Fringe so it doesn't run over. Great preview try out but it did go too long. I am sure these issues will be addressed. Picking up of cues will help that too!... full review
