Alex Alpharaoh
Alex Alpharaoh is an award winning stage and film Actor, Writer, Director, Producer, Spoken Word Artist, and Solo Performer from Los Angeles, CA. He has performed in various venues and open mics throughout Los Angeles including Da Poetry Lounge, Sunday Jump, Washington D.C.‘s Busboys and Poets, and New York’s renowned Nuyorican Cafe.
Alpharaoh is the Creator of SP!T: Spoken Word Theatre, A series he originally developed at Urban Theatre Movement, where he is a founding member.
He enjoyed celebrated success at The Hollywood Fringe Festival 2016 when he helped develop and direct Gabriela Ortega in her wildly celebrated Solo Show titled LAS GARCIA.
Alpharaoh went on to Produce a full run of Hollywood Fringe 2015 World premiere DON’T TALK ABOUT IT, SP!T ABOUT IT, at the end of the summer of 2016 at CASA0101 THEATRE.
This year, Alpharaoh is excited to help usher in his artistic family, URBAN THEATRE MOVEMENT, in our first HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL where he will serve as producer and actor in UTM’s URBAN UNREST.
SP!T continues to grow and will be part of Da Poetry Lounge’s 1st Annual L.A. GET DOWN FESTIVAL on April 28th, 2017.
His One Act Play, FREDDY’S LAST CONCERT will be produced by URBAN THEATRE MOVEMENT’s annual URBAN LEGENDS ONE ACT FESTIVAL, 04/27-05/14, 2017.
Alpharaoh is currently in development with his latest Solo Show titled WET: A DACAMENTED JOURNEY, about being a new kind of American in search of the old dreams that may not exist in our country anymore. The show is currently being developed and workshopped at Ensemble Studio Theatre Los Angeles (EST/LA).
Alpharaoh is a classically trained actor with over a decade of performance experience.
Alpharaoh has studied playwrighting with playwright Seth Ez-zvi Rosenfeld, award winning playwright Zakiyyah Alexander, award winning playwright Margaret Medina, and is part of the Antaeus Playwrights Lab, where he is also an affiliate member.
