Jim Blanchette

Jim is excited to return for his sixth Fringe, and is loving his return to the director’s chair to work with his friends Brandie June and Becca McGlynn on Truly Outrageous. Jim previously was the writer/director of Transference, garnering a welcome Double Sweet Rating from Better Lemons, in HFF 2019. He directed HFF 2018’s critical favorite The Women of Lockerbie, also a Double Sweet winner. Jim has been working as a dramaturg and director for Write Act Repertory for the two decades and has guided many works to premiers on both coasts; including Swing (dramaturg – LA), It Came From Beyond (director – Off Broadway), Lili Marlene (drtg. – LA, dir./drtg. – OB), The Pillars of New York (dir./drtg. – LA & OB), Renewal (drtg. – OB, dir./drtg. – LA) and The Devil’s Bride (dir./drtg.) In his spare time, Jim quilts and spoils his cat.
