Laura Carson
In third grade, I played Templeton the Rat in “Charlotte’s Web.” During my big dance number, I gave a swish of my long, rat tail my mother had sewn onto the butt of my grey sweatpants. Everyone in the auditorium erupted with laughter at my comedic “tail” work, and I was hooked.
I love making people laugh, cry, feel and think. Theater and stories have their roots in ancient campfire tales, traditions that lie at the bedrock of community. I believe that the modern performer’s job is to reconnect us to that primal power, keeping us thoughtfully engaged in living through art.
Theatre, film, TV – you name it, I’ve done it. I earned a B.A. in Theatre from William & Mary then my travels have taken me to Louisville, New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta. Some of my film and TV credits include “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Gilmore Girls,” “Bruce Almighty,” and “Drop Dead Diva.” I am a company member with the badass LA-based theatre company Son of Semele Ensemble.
