Sleeping Around

What a wonderful brilliance, the question that every single one of us has always pondered, but never known: How far back do the tendrils of our romantic connections really go? The perceptiveness of this show takes on a beautifully anchored form, almost a type of romantic neurology: a cyclical progression of axons and dendrites, each scene pulsing its own electric charge right into the synaptic cleft, and then....ZAP, the moment of truth. Does love succeed or fail in this moment? Maybe success and... full review

House of Rabbits - Charivari in Voyeurville

Transfixed, I sat as my small grey corrugated little brain was snatched up and held deliciously hostage by this twisted, sick, hypnotic, raw, gritty, erotic masterpiece of a show. It was like being hit in the face with a shovel full of red velvet cake. It wants to hurt you and make you relish every ounce of it. This bizarre wonderland with its acerbically seductive cast never stopped moving for a single second. The stamina, the drive, the force of it....was like the actors were livin... full review

Rodeo Town

What do you want? Seriously....what is it that you want? One character asks this question in Rodeo Town. And it made me ask my self what I wanted out of Theatre. Do you want something gritty, truthful, messy, and strangely familial? Well then, to borrow a phrase, this is the show for you. I sat in the second row, which I maintain was a damn good choice; and as the sweat, blood, and cornbread poured off stage, I was brought right into the middle of a southern war zone between four characters.... full review

The Pokemusical

STOP EVERYTHING NOW! You may have some notion of what you believe you need to accomplish on this earth...the job, the car, the house, the spouse, the kid. Let me just say this. If your list doesn't additionally include a trip to see this show, you're wasting the sad little clump of behavioral metabolic tissue cells you call life. This musical was so utterly satisfying to sit through. Beautifully written, the cast turns this smart campy joyride into a diamond mine of talent and entertainment (... full review

BOBBYWOOD: WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BOBBY THE BELLBOY?

I just walked out of the theater, having spent an absolutely delightful hour listening to Bill Ratner's expert story telling savvy. He chronicles the memory of traveling out to Hollywood years ago to meet his uncle (a washed up tv star of a bygone era). This meeting, which didn't turn out at all like he'd imagined it would, led to one of the most fascinating series of events I've ever heard. But as Ratner moves us seamlessly from 1985 to 1973 to 1953 to now, we're reminded quite simply of the... full review

Cowboy Mouth

A play as much about identity as it is about desire, this production of Cowboy Mouth uniquely exhibits a mind-bending quality that is just what I'm searching for when I experience theater. Do we really seek to know the truth about anyone or anything, or do we encounter people merely to reduce them to a myth that we can easily categorize? A MUST-SEE!!!... full review
