This Was Never Supposed To Be A One Woman Show

"This Was Never Supposed To Be A One Woman Show" blew me away! I had the privilege of attending this unique performance by Samantha Bowling, and let me tell you, it was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. So, picture this: Samantha, who used to be part of the comedy duo Bipolar Fantasy Squad with her friend Brittany Belland, finds herself on stage alone after Brittany's tragic death. You can imagine the weight of grief and loss she carries, but she fearlessly takes the spotlight and uses he... full review

A compelling narrative matched with a grounded performance. This show lets you peer inside the mind of a man who has lived with the choices of his past his whole life. There's strong storytelling and it's a deep performance, the actor, Colin Mitchell is entrenched and truly feels the material.... full review

WHITE HOT

From the moment this show started I felt something crawling inside of me, my breath got heavy, my heart was pounding and I knew I was in for an evening of theater that would move me. The tension riding underneath this play is palpable and director Caitlin Hart knows just how to keep it going. The stillness and explosions are skillfully crafted but as an audience we can't see the seams, it just feels like a tattered mess in the best way possible, life is a tattered mess and the best we can do is t... full review

EXORCISTIC: the Rock Musical Parody Experiment

jeremy aluma · June 10, 2013 certified reviewer
A powerhouse musical parody that's full of high energy, humor and knock-put performances. This show is destined to be a hit at this year's Fringe. Personally, I can't watch horror films or psychological thrillers because they fuck with my head too much, so I'm only culturally familiar with Exorcist the book/movie. Coming to a parody of a piece I'm not familiar with always makes me skeptical, but there was enough humor and liveliness in this show that I stayed entertained throughout. The performan... full review

Lost Moon Radio presents Roger Wodehouse's Androgymnasium

BUY SOME FUCKING TICKETS NOW! Lost Moon Radio is consistently one of the best acts at the Hollywood Fringe and LA Theater in general. If you want to see how professionals fringe or just laugh till it hurts, SEE THIS SHOW! I saw this show the 1st time they premiered it at Fais-Do-Do about 18 months ago and again at this year's Fringe and it's now leaner, tighter and funnier with some new bits added. If you're a Lost Moon fan, this is a departure from their traditional structure and personally I ho... full review

Anaconda

This is the best drama I've seen so far at the fringe, really compelling stuff. The writing was sharp, poignant and the actors matched the stakes wonderfully. I think it's the first show at the fringe I've left wanting more, this 60 minute one-act should (and hopefully will) be turned into a two-act play. The scenes are tight and each revelation digs you deeper into the heart and mind of the motivations for each of the characters. The dialogue was always high stakes and yet it remained believable... full review

Making Love Over There

I really like this company and you should too. Their work is consistently energetic and full of artistry. I'm a crier, but this is the first show at the fringe to make me weep, weep like a little boy. The acting is top notch, really this pair is dynamic, interesting and varied throughout. Lonesome No More! is a terrific young company and if having a linear plot isn't something you require to enjoy a play, definitely see their show.... full review

Beautiful, enchanting work from experts at their craft. The way these two manipulate their bodies is astounding and mind-bending. It's a visually pleasing show with enough stage pictures to fill your head for days to come. And some really keen theatrical tricks too. I will definitely be stealing a thing or two from these maestros. ... full review
