Movin' On Up

Another wonderful Jeremy Kehoe play. The absurdist comedy comes at you in a barrage of wit and language. It feels like a cross between David Mamet and Samuel Beckett. The play is wildly original and the comedy is layered with insight and genuinely touching moments. The actors have to work hard not to get tongue-tied in any Kehoe play and this cast, Jeffrey Wylie, Tessie Barressi, and Gary Rubenstein was more than up to the challenge. Deliriously demented. I was alternately hilariously entertained, startled, horrified and disgusted over 70 minutes of manic energy and comedy. Dylan Wallace's plays are always a treat and Jocelyn Hall, as ever, is excellent - as is the rest of the cast. There are shows this Thursday and Saturday so get your tickets and hold on tight!... full review

Laura Grimaldi's one woman show is totally organic. It bravely exposes uncomfortable tales from her life with heart and humor. It is an amazingly balanced story of self reflection that could so easily have slipped into a self absorbed sob story. Go to see this uplifting, entertaining show. You will not be disappointed. ... full review

There is never a dull moment in this show. Raw feelings of the characters create a powerful arc around grief in a family long after the immediate loss. It explores what lingers for each of them and is complicated with an interracial element. Even though this a dramatic topic, the amazing director and terrific cast inject humor with heart into the show accented masterfully with the use of the props that help give the absent family member a place on the stage. It is a great show that moves and pr... full review

Truly compelling from beginning to end, this is accomplished in the powerful writing, stunning acting and delicate yet hard hitting directing. In all these elements the journey takes turns that keep the audience in the moment. It is a production that inspires thoughts, emotions and questions about the nature of life, long after leaving the show. ... full review
