Vee Kumari is a second-year Hollywood Fringe Festival Actress/Producer; 2023 was her first year. Her first Fringe production, Yoni Ki Kahaniya (Vagina Stories), with an ensemble cast, won the Best Drama Award. Vee has been a scientist all her adult life and discovered acting only after retirement in 2012. Producing her own shows brings her considerable satisfaction, as it feeds her late-discovered passion for acting. Her acting credits include “Criminal Minds” and “GLOW.” She was the Executive Producer and lead performer in “HALWA,” a short film that won HBO’s Asia Pacific American Visionaries Award. Her second short film, “YATRA: The Journey,” garnered many accolades and had a successful participation in film festivals. The limited opportunities to hear authentic voices of South Asian women on stage, film, and TV empowered her to embrace Fringe again this year to produce and perform in Late Sunday Afternoon, Early Sunday Evening.
it is a 2-person play, short and sweet, about a grandmother’s conversation with her granddaughter!
