Spot on! I have never seen a more evocative portrayal of the Great Detective, and several of his friends and enemies as well. I was riveted, and could have watched for hours.... full review

Take Me As I Am: A Joni Mitchell Tribute

A fine tribute to a great artist! A thoroughly enjoyable set of songs on dulcimer and both acoustic and electric guitars. And Rainee's impression of Joni between songs (while readjusting her instruments due to her famously open tunings) had just the right amount of "aw shucks" that I remember from Joni at the Troubadour back in the day.... full review

Sinatra: RAW

A terrific, almost astounding show. The musical performance was excellent, but the real gem is the dialog between the numbers presenting The Man and His Times as he gradually drinks himself into a looser and angrier state. Bravo!... full review

A riotously funny show that delighted the audience to a degree I would have thought impossible on a Tuesday night at 11 PM! Elise Dewsberry continues to be an amazing and engaging performer at everything she does. It’s good to be the queen!... full review

The Last Croissant

A hilarious and thought-provoking romp, gorgeously staged and deliciously acted. Fans of magical realism will be especially satisfied as well as mystified. Nothing is explained or accomplished in almost Brechtian fashion, which is as refreshing as drinking hot water with a slice of lemon after a heavy meal. After the laughter is done, you are left with so many questions...... full review

POCKETS

Wowsers! The best offering yet from Robot Teammate, who are growing into their big boy pants at an astonishing rate. From the large cast to the costumes and choreography, they continue to raise the bar on their distinctive comedic oeuvre - and I couldn't be more pleased. The show is hilarious and heartwarming, with tons of punny in-jokes for those who like a good wink. And the performances of the Robot team are tremendous as usual, consistently stealing their scenes. The songs and dance numbers a... full review

Klingon Tamburlaine

Galactical theatrical brilliance! Who are these School of Night people who so savagely mount the classics, redigested for these latter days? Even better than last year's Hercules Insane (my favorite play of HF18), Klingon Tamburlaine achieves the seemingly impossible, again and again. The Ruby Theater stage is not large; how then did they portray vast space battles and epic sword combat on the plains of the Klingon homeworld. You'll have to see the show to find out, and you will be amazed. And th... full review
