Happy

Please add this to your Fringe must-see list, with an excellent cast and thoughtful direction, HAPPY stays with you long after the show is over. Clothes come on and off, lots of alcohol is consumed and violence ensues. The play leaves it up to you as to is admirable and who is not.... full review

Marlane Barnes was the standout in this show - she's electric on-stage, and a very good writer as well (I believe she wrote her material - lost the program!). Overall there was a lot to like. Smaranda Luna is one-of-a-kind, loved her style. It feels a lot like a young actor showcase, but the way they linked the bits together was well-done. I'd like to see these actors in material that is more polished.... full review

The Best of 25 Plays Per Hour

The praise for this show is well-deserved. What a strong cast! Some of these mini-plays will stick with you. My Faves: The fantastic "White Satin, Clean Lines" featuring Coutney Sara Bell, "Amnesia" with Coutney Sara Bell & Jenn Scuderi Crafts which reminded me of classic live TV comedy, the Serial Killer series with Jim Martyka and a deliriously funny Heather Lake and "The Greatest Detective" with Heather Lake, Lee Pollero, Liz Flemming and Ben Atkinson.... full review

Yum! The absolute highest energy show you will see at The Fringe. Selah Victor is electric, the most polished and proper lunatic to ever hit the boards. The cast has a blast and so does the audience. Loved it!... full review

“Blind Struck Ugly Luck” was by far my favorite and has stuck with me for days afterwards. Great writing/directing by Nate Edelman, and actors Derek Chariton & Julia Keefe are a joy. The hardest I have laughed at the Fringe. ... full review

That Old Black Magic

There is an awful lot to say about this show and I'm so glad I saw it. It was not the history as much as these characters that I can't get out of my mind. (Although I learned a lot about segregated Vegas) I guess I feel that I myself ping eternally between the worlds of Sweet Bojanski Brown and The Amazing Daisy (the Amusing Daisy). Like many of us, these two characters are trying to make their marks as artists. Their personalities are at the opposite end of the spectrum. The memory that sti... full review

Some Girl(s), by Neil LaBute

james robinson · June 16, 2014 uncertified reviewer
Rachel Parker as Lindsay and Katherine Diaz at Reggie are the standouts in this production, the stage crackles when they are on it. Great work. The other parts are weighed down with LaBute’s bloated verbage (a page and a half on cashews, do you want some? No thanks, I guess I’ll have some, Gee, they are expensive, these cashews... Here I am eating peanuts, no, they are cashews... oh yeah, cashews, right.. cashews) Sigh… That might work on a London stage, with bolted on American British jokes and... full review
