Farideh Kakavand (frida)

Farideh Kakavand, known professionally as Frida, is an accomplished Iranian actress, filmmaker, and voice artist with a rich career spanning over two decades. Educated in Theater Directing and Cinema at Tehran University, she furthered her expertise with advanced studies in Cinema and TV Production at LACC. Frida has appeared in notable films including “Parviz” and “Parvaneh,” and the TV show “The Silver Poet.” Her stage performances include “Wild Strawberry” and “Comill” in notable venues like the Santa Monica Library. As a filmmaker, Frida has directed and produced several impactful documentaries and drama films broadcast on platforms like BBC Persian. Her works include “Silent Oriental,” “Inside Feature,” and the festival-featured documentary “Moein-al-Boka.” Frida’s scriptwriting skills have been recognized with awards at the GHALAM Festival for her dramas “Interpretation for a Dream” and “Waiting Color.” In addition to her artistic achievements, Frida has been a dynamic force in community and educational settings, organizing events and serving on festival juries.
