The Mayor's Debate of Tranquility, Nebraska

5 Stars Even outside of the stew that is Fringe, rarely do we see a play so excellently executed. Start with a phenomenal original script that combines belly laughs, suspense, and moments of gut-wrenching emotion, add four actors each at the top of their game, and stir with flawless direction, and you get The Mayor’s Debate of tranquility, Nebraska. Don’t let anyone tell you any specifics about the show, a large part of the fun is the unfolding of the mystery. And DON’T miss it!!... full review

Shakespeare's Last Night Out (or What? YOU, Will??)

Now this is how you do it. My personal feelings of Michael Shaw Fisher aside (I love the man), he has written and composed and performs an AMAZING piece of theater. Remember the award-winning The Devil & Billy Markham last year?? This is EVEN BETTER (And that's saying a lot:-) Script is flawless, every moment of the 70 minutes are crystal clear, in intent and content; even the songs advance the plot and emotional journey, and there’s ample variation in the melodies of the musical numbers. What the F*ck?

(disclaimer: I am a proud Boner:-) Fierce Backbone tries something new this year with their take on the '3-minute plays' in an hour structure, and with great success. Keeping all eight (and wonderful) actors on stage throughout to tag-team scenes, this show is a fast and furious, all fun and silliness, look at "WTF" moments in life. And the audience gets in on the fun too as we yell "WHAT THE FUCK?!" to end each scene. Bring your friends, bring your grandparents, bring your booze!! Remembe... full review

A must see, wonderfully executed on every level. (And how GREAT is it to see a Fringe show that is fully rehearsed/realized at its preview?!?!) It has set the bar VERY HIGH for this years big productions.... full review

A wonderfully assured full length play. Brandon Baruch's script is a gem, the story arc flowing naturally to it's perfectly awkward end, and with dialogue full of nuanced character details--AND funny lines, Baruch has the audience in the palm of his hand from start to finish. Director Jessica Hanna stages the action, and handles the excellent cast, with aplomb. Every scene, every moment, is focused and engaging--she, too, holds us in rapped attention, allowing these lives to slowly infiltrate ... full review

AWESOME show! Do not be mistaken--this is not an autobiographical one man show, it's a play with a wild story and a tour de force performance by Ben Moroski. Rarely do we see a performer so capture every second of our attention (and his script does the same), and Nick Massouh's direction is so seamless you're not even aware of his presence. Ben's going to be huge one day, see him now!!:)... full review

A very ambitious production that fully realizes it's dream. Matt Ritchey has written and directed a wonderfully inventive, engaging, and entertaining piece that EVERYONE who has ever had even the slightest exposure to Shakespeare will fully enjoy. There is a lot going on here, story and character-wise, and the pace never lets up. And kudos to the large cast, everyone was funny and spot-on in their work. HIGHLY recommended!... full review

A remarkable piece of theater, and one of the best "relationship" plays I've ever seen. Cailin Harrison's taught script centers on a couple who are both on great career trajectories in New York, until He gets a transfer to London, and she gives up her career to join him. Sounds like a standard story we've heard before--but Harrison pours so much detail into the script it's like we are truly witnessing these peoples lives. And then the ending, well, my friends and I all came out saying, "What ... full review
