Dana Murphy

Dana Murphy is a director, choreographer, and theatre educator from Culver City, CA. After graduating from UC San Diego with a B.A. in Theatre, Dana participated in the first annual Hollywood Fringe Festival as a performer and collaborator in Pagan Play, an original work by Moving Parts Theatre Company. Since then, she has continued her educational theatre work as Associate Director of deeLightful Productions (a children’s musical theatre company in Culver City) and Artistic Director of the John Adams Middle School Theatre Company in Santa Monica (made possible by a grant from the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation that she received this past December to create a comprehensive after school theatre program at JAMS). If she is not teaching, directing, or dancing, Dana is probably camping, making, loving, or high-fiving.

Dana is so grateful to the 2011 Hollywood Fringe for providing the nudge of inspiration that was needed for Lonesome No More! Theatre to be born. It has been such a joy to play and discover with each and every member of this extraordinary company, and she cannot wait to spread that joy all over Los Angeles!
