From writer/director Sean Boring (Funny or Die’s “Disney Couples Therapy”),“Thumb Wars” is a crass comedic one-act that tells the story of Keith and Monica, two twenty-somethings just coming off of their first date from the night before. As the two share their perspectives with their respective friends (Brad and Taylor), it becomes clear that two people can have vastly different interpretations of the night’s prior events. Things become further complicated when Keith begins to misconstrue texts with Monica, while following the poor advice of Brad.
“Thumb Wars” shines an absurd light onto the way we both communicate and date today; where we rely more and more on detached interactions (texting) opposed to holding actual conversations with one another.
“Thumb Wars” is a comedic story of he/said, she /said, misinterpretations, and the new realities of dating with your thumbs.
