This award is to celebrate women working independently to create original and innovative content.
BITTER LEMONS AWARD FOR FAMILY FARE (BLAFF)
The best production playing at the Fringe for family and children seven years old and under.
BITTER LEMONS IRREVERENT FRINGE FEMMES AWARD (BLIFF)
The award for a play written by a woman that explores its subject matter in an irreverent and contrarian manner.
BITTER LEMONS OUTRAGEOUS AWARD FOR THEATER (BLOAT)
This is the award for the most outrageously theatrical production playing at the Fringe.

THE DOMA AWARD FOR BEST NEW MUSICAL
The award winning DOMA Theatre Company is proud to sponsor The Hollywood Fringe Festival Award for Best New Musical. The award is designed to promote and foster the growth and development of new musicals in the Los Angeles area. DOMA wishes to create an avenue where the winning musical will have the opportunity to further develop the piece and in addition, be able to endure a continued run in the Los Angeles area.
THE DUENDE DISTINCTION
The Vagrancy produces work with that ineffable something, duende. A duende is a fairy- or goblin-like mythological creature from Iberian, Latin American and Filipino folklore. As Federico Garcia Lorca uses the term, it equates the fairy to a realm of being that has a heightened state of emotion, expression, and authenticity. It’s the spirit of evocation, it’s what gives you chills when you listen to a beautiful piece of music.
THE ENCORE! - PRODUCERS' AWARD
The Encore Producer Awards (Formerly the Best of Fringe- Extensions) represent the best of the Hollywood Fringe as selected by venue producers, based on artistic merit and commercial potential. The extensions immediately follow the HFF2014 and run through July in participating fringe venues. Shows receive valuable extensions giving them the opportunity for additional audience, press, awards and extensions.
Past winners have gone on to further extensions in LA, around the country and the world.
Including Pulp Shakespeare, Pokemusical, Sunny Afternoon, My Penis in and Out of Trouble, Bad Arm, The Birthday Boys, Take Me To the Poorhouse, The Devil and Billy Markham, I am Google and Who Loves You Baby.

THE LUMPY-CRAMP© FRESHMAN PARTICIPANT AWARD
This award is for those participants who entered the Hollywood Fringe Festival for the first time this year. This award exists to encourage participation in future awards and to provide successful tools for a successful sophomore season at the Hollywood Fringe Festival the following year.
THE UNLEASHED AWARD
The Unleashed Award is designed to acknowledge and celebrate productions that best exemplify the values outlined in Theatre Unelashed’s mission: to come together as one in order to create truly remarkable theatre with a fresh, thought-provoking approach to original or established works.
TRAILER PARK AWARD (TPA)
The TPA is awarded to the best Video Teaser Trailer at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
VETERANS FOR VIRGINS AWARD
The Veterans for Virgins Award is presented by veteran Hollywood Fringe Festival producers to an outstanding first time Hollywood Fringe Festival producer to recognize her effort in mounting a promising Hollywood Fringe production. The spirit of this award is to recognize those brave souls who have decided to pop their production cherry at the Hollywood Fringe and intend to mount another production in the following Festival. The ideal candidate is a first-time producer mounting new work with a cast and crew as new to the game as she is. We want to encourage anyone considering putting together a show to do so here and now and to highlight those who are willing to take the risk. Fringe isn’t just about superlatives; it’s also about giving new producers a chance to take a chance on theatre.
