What do you get when you combine Mark Twain and David Ives? “An elaborate madcap comedy that registers high on the mirth meter and reaches especially giddy comic heights!” – David Rooney, Variety. Coeurage Theatre Company brings the Twain-penned, Ives-adapted farce Is He Dead? to the stage right in time for the 3rd Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Twain’s play was never produced in his time, largely due to a fire that destroyed London’s Lyceum theatre in 1898. Over a century later, the play was discovered in UC Berkeley’s archives, revamped by Ives, and debuted on Broadway – ironically at the Lyceum Theatre.
