My overall impression
You might think that a show based on LOLcats might be a waste of time. You might think that an OPERA based on LOLcats might not only be a waste of time, but an impossibility. Well, be ready to be proven wrong by Ellen Warkentine and Andrew Pedroza. This wildly absurd and hilarious trip through the anthropomorphic world of LOLcats is not only entertaining, but surprisingly coherent. Within (and using ONLY words from LOLcats postings), the artists tell a story not just about the creation of the universe, but about good and evil, family life, office work, love and loss. While never reaching levels of authentic emotion, the quality music, dedication of the incredibly talented cast, and the absolute inanity of it all will keep you laughing for the full two+ hours. Definitely worth it… try your best to squeeze into next week’s final (and apparently sold out) show.
