My overall impression
It was horribly irresponsible of me to wait so long to post this review, and even worse not to have pitched this show that much harder, and to even more people.
Sex, AKA Weiners and Boobs, may have a slightly misleading title, but you’ll be glad you showed up. The pedigree of talent behind the show is complimented nicely by the talent in front of it, particularly by the narrator of the show. I felt more than a little cheated on his behalf that he was born a decade or so too late to have shown up on The State or, just as easily, Mr. Show, as he kept me laughing and engaged every moment he was onstage.
Ultimately, this show is only going to suffer from too much description on my part. Suffice it to say, it’s a terrific revelry in professionally done theater that’s designed to look beyond amateur. The cast performs brilliantly, while trying to seem as though they have zero talent. The show is incredibly clever, particularly in how incredibly stupid it is. These are not meant as insults. You will laugh exactly when these people want you to laugh, and it will happen many, many times throughout the show. I hope they put it on again soon, somewhere, and not at midnight, because I’ll be their biggest supporter.
