This was a finely acted and wonderfully produced show. It was very creative with its scenes. 2 actors, who knows how many plays. Quite a feat to take on. However, there were multiple times where there were extended periods of nothing onstage. Having 2 extra actors wouldn't have hurt that. If the audience is given the time to divert their attention, they will do so. It was also confusing, but because the scenes were not always developed. Not enough plot in all of them. Think of this as an experiment and you will get much more out of it than if you think of it as "a show." Two actors, bare bones ideas (sometimes confusing, sometimes more fleshed out, sometimes completely random), and quick costume changes make for an interesting experience!... full review

I had mixed feelings about the show, but at the conclusion of the show, I felt like my hour was well spent. The skits were hit or miss. Some of them, including the Salon scene and the chase scene using both doors and the backstage area were magnificent, but the Scrambler scene was just okay, for example. I think the overall theme of the show and the connections between pieces was excellent. I did laugh often, but more appreciated the cleverness of the direction and presentation of the pieces. Each member of the cast was multi-talented and likeable, including the voice-over audio actor. There's nothing not to love about Lonesome No More's highly innovative and skillful "Making Love Over There". Mad props to an extremely talented cast, a wonderful script, and a great production team that perfect a Brechtian style that is too often ignored in today's theatre community. A wonderful journey through the multifaceted experiences and perspectives of the human relation to love, passion and attraction. Both actors are delightful in their portrayal of the various characters they play as well as in the way they interact with each other. A really terrific, and terrifically performed show, Making Love Over There is a great, frenetic, if sometimes mildly head-spinning piece of theater. Patrick Riley and Zoe Chao fall in and out of love at a faster pace than most of us can manage to strike up a conversation, and it's almost always spot-on. From the very start, with the two freezing cold, screaming strangers tearing off their clothes and, just as quickly, breaking apart, we get a sense of the mad rush that we're in for, and that love can, of course, provide. Most of the show continues on as such, particular highlights being the couple speaking a gibberish version of an Eastern European language as a couple meets at a train station, a gorgeous languid moment when Riley watches ... full review

This was a very interesting piece of theater. I went into the performance not truly understanding what it would be about, and was still confused at the end. What I was not confused about was the quality of the acting. Both Patrick Riley and Zoe Chao turned in great performances in a myriad of roles with the central theme being the pursuit of love. It was funny, emotional, serious and breathtaking. I was most impressed by the opening scene, where they stood next to each other under multiple layers of clothing, trying to keep from freezing, resulting in the quick shedding of all their clothes to make out.
