It is an ambitious play incorporating many traditional and non traditional theatrical elements- even a Dionysian party. The theme of CATAMITUS is that of the title character: The horrific ascent to spiritual perfection. Ben, the main character, lives in the modern age: the degenerate Kali Yuga- the Age of Pisces- the time of instantaneous technological transmission of the steady beat of violence in the world. A traditional and yet modernized Greek Chorus comprises the rest of the cast, to come in and out of Ben's life from his birth in 1986 to now, 2012. There, Ben experiences a transition, a revelation into the Age of Aquarius. He explores what the end of the world really means in eternal time- ...
