If Rush Limbaugh is a big fat liar, then Craig Shaynak is a wide bowl full of funny. For 45 minutes Shaynak struts, frets, sweats, and makes delicious fun of the naive, wrong-headed pomposity of today's super-cyber-brands that run our lives. He is Google in absurdist slo-mo, manically answering old-fashioned dial phones, rifling through trivia books, calling his barely-reliable pal Wikipedia on the sly - all in an attempt to process the billion searches that he processes every day, and all the while keeping tabs on the audience as only the best storytellers do - looking us in the eye, remembering our names, copping our personal data like a dirty cyber-uncle, and pining for his sweet, gone gal Twitter. If there was a Fringe award for the most determined self-promoter, the award would go to Craig Shaynak. He was everywhere, talking to participants and people in general, handing out flyers, in his large white "Google" t-shirt. How could I not check out his show? Good thing I did, cause it's a riot! From the moment I entered the venue, where Craig was handing out Oreo Cookies, cause "cookies must be accepted if you want your browser to work." Craig had one pun after another lined up to demonstrate our complete dependence on all things internet. He provided very colorful characterizations of such web presences as Bing, Yelp, Yahoo, and all of the Google apps and features. With the help of the audience, he improvs and demonstrates ev... full review
