My overall impression

This on the surface, could have been a very interesting show. However I found it dreary and very amateur. Both cast members over-acted to the point of it being a joke. There was no chemistry whatsoever between the characters, and as a result the hour painfully dragged.
It seemed I was watching a battle between two rival actors, each desperate to out-act each other, both failing to deliver.
Neither performer gave over any sense of the emotion in any of the scenes – it was like watching two robots with posh accents and the occasional ‘amateur dramatic’ facial twitch, reading the phone directory.
Anyone can stand on a stage and tell the audience in words that Holmes and Watson have a unique bond, but unless you make our emotions believe this to be true, the play becomes pointless.
I’m sorry, but the whole experience was utterly dull.
On a positive note – The seats in the theater were very comfortable.
