What I liked
I really liked how they interpreted the specific eras in which the selected playwrights would have been prominent in, and how they were able to fit three very concise and different storylines within short periods of time. Even though it was improvised and not scripted, each actor seemed well versed and prepared with their knowledge of the playwrights and time periods their stories took place in.
What I didn't like
I wish the show was a little longer! Ended a little bit too soon for me.
My overall impression
I thoroughly enjoyed “Welcome To The Vantage Point,” & have been a fan of Company of Angels for several years. The artists complement each other very well as an ensemble. Their premise was very innovative and entertaining, taking one suggestion from the audience and adapting them to styles of several iconic playwrights. It was great to see them address recurring themes throughout the BIPOC community and seeing what I related to personally, also being enlightened of other viewpoints I may not be aware of. It’s really important to keep this dialogue open. Looking forward to future shows!
