I found Nancy Eng to be refreshing! Her ability to transfer from character to character, without missing a beat, was flawless! She draws you in on every level, with every scene and every sentence. You can feel the angst, frustration, pain and self protection! Tears will flow in her scene about, 'the only man who ever unconditionally loved her'... BUT make no mistake, you will laugh too!!! I enjoyed it from start to finish and my adoration of West Coast theatre has been restored! It was a gorgeous, seamless blend of humor and thought provoking scenes!...

Wonderful performance! I really enjoyed the honesty, humor and saddness in these characters. Thoughtfully written, the play weaved between raw and witty characters that presented a layered presentation of Nancy Eng's talent, poise and comedic timing...and oh, how it was funny. I would highly recommend this play!!! ...

Nancy Eng did a fantastic job in portraying her multi-character performance. Her characters were distinct as they were portrayed with different accents, posture, and wardrobe change. It was thought provoking and funny at the same time. A definite must see!...

Nancy Eng brings life, love, pain, humor and experience to the stage! This is a fantastic 1 woman show that embodies all of the fore-mentioned! She has a unique format with blending the 8 characters and it absolutely works! You are drawn into the different 'lives' that she portrays, in the sex industry. It is not for the faint of heart and if you have a head on your shoulders, you will walk away thinking differently about such an industry because of the honesty in which Nancy Eng portrays it! Truly an hour and money well spent! Nancy Eng pulls no punches in her show and THAT is a nice change of pace! ...

This play was hilarious! A very insightful and fresh perspective on the seedy underbelly of American pleasure parlors. An important work for Asian Asian American theatre.

Excellent piece, and I hope it comes back! Nancy has taken her experiences, associations, and the cultural insights that could only come from a New Yorker, and given the stage a fascinating set of people. You laugh at them, you laugh with them, you weep for them, and you know them all. Great show! ...

The Women of Tu-Na House is the type of show that needs to be put out more. You hardly hear from the perspectives of the Chinese delivery man to the Latin maid or any blue collar types that most people see on a daily that no one thinks about. Here you have Nancy Eng and her colorful characters dishing out their stories about working in a brothel.
The show is daring and funny as hell. What really did it for me were the references of HB Studios in New York City. One of her character talks about her experiences with the Johns and how they get caught off guard that she does not speak with an Asian accent. So, to be more "authentic" she enrolls in HB Studios for acting classes to better serve her Johns to fancy their stereotypes. The other ref...

All of the characters are captivating and charming. Some will strike a cord with you more than others but all-in-all, it was great. Nancy interpreted them all perfectly!...
