My overall impression

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I went to see “Gospel of a Teenage Jesus”, but I can say it went over and beyond any expectations I could have had. Possibly one of the most clever and humorous takes on the Bible that I’ve ever seen. Let’s just be honest, where else do you get to see God being portrayed as a womanizing, sleazy absent father,Mother Mary as a scorned and bitter woman, pissed off at God for leaving her after the best night of her life and Joseph as a bumbling fool? Then you have 14 year old Jesus caught at a crossroads, deciding on a life of carpentary or ruling the world. My favorite though has to be poor Origen fighting with the publisher who wants to make the Bible a superhero story. This play is pure genius, 30 minutes of intelligent comedy worth every penny, I just wish it had more dates so more could see it.
