The Mayor's Debate of Tranquility, Nebraska

This is the funniest show I've seen in the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Writer and star Jim Hanna continues to be one of the best comedy writers out there. His jokes are always set up well beforehand and pay off beautifully while the story unfolds. This show is so much more than a simple Mayors debate in a small town. I won't ruin it but it goes to a place that was totally unexpected for me, and that pushed it over the edge into something really great. Highly recommended.... full review

I have been fortunate enough to see and hear Jim's work performed on stage. His writing is insanely good. This show is timeless and very relatable. The cast was unique and fun. Every character was clearly developed and strong in their own way. I would see this again!... full review

What an outstanding show! Strong performances from every single person with hilarious dialogue and banter between all of the characters. My expectations were met with the quick wit and delivery from Jim and his cast and I never have experience a show where the time flew by so quickly. Every moment was full and present. 5 Stars Even outside of the stew that is Fringe, rarely do we see a play so excellently executed. Start with a phenomenal original script that combines belly laughs, suspense, and moments of gut-wrenching emotion, add four actors each at the top of their game, and stir with flawless direction, and you get The Mayor’s Debate of tranquility, Nebraska. Don’t let anyone tell you any specifics about the show, a large part of the fun is the unfolding of the mystery. And DON’T miss it!!... full review

If Christopher Guest and Stephen King had a baby, it would be the aptly titled "Mayor's Debate of Tranquility, Nebraska." This very clever, sharply written satire is well performed and probably one of the best things I've seen at this year's Fringe. Bravo!... full review
