What I liked

I liked the simplicity of the show. The writing and the acting of the show was impactful enough that there was no need to be distracted by unnecessary props or lighting which I appreciated.

My overall impression

There was a subtle humor in the writing that helped balance the intensity of the subject matter. The writing powerfully addressed the complexities of colorism, racism, and different approaches of activism to portray the environment in 1964 as well as the environment today. Both actors did a great job at portraying their respective roles and embodying the nuances of very distinct individuals. All of that tied in with symbolism that perfectly reflected the progression of the perspective and attitudes of the characters.
