I thought the acting was superb. Grounded, believable, and the big meaty moments were explosive and well placed. The playwright writes with a great deal of clarity, and the voices felt authentic. The themes were important, and the commentary on the state of rock and the music business is very relatable to anyone with dreams. Just a well executed production all around by young and hungry talents.
What I didn't like
While there is a stigma against long Fringe shows, I think this could have benefited from more script. Particularly in the lead up to the climax. Something to increase the drama and the overall stakes leading into what is an intensely dramatic ending. I would encourage the playwright to expand out of the hour into the full length world.
My overall impression
Very strong entry in this year’s Fringe. Easy to enjoy this one.
