“Death and the Fool” is a contemporary adaptation of selected pieces from, “Mistero Buffo,” also known as the comic mystery plays written by Nobel Prize winning playwright Dario Fo and Franca Rame. Centering around Biblical tales told from the perspective of the Everyman, Fiasco! Physical Theatre incorporates live music, physical comedy, pantomime and the spoken word to bring these stories and timeless issues of morality, dignity, survival, perseverance, corruption, order and power to the Hollywood Fringe.

Over the course of three years, director Erin Leigh Crites collaborated with Dario Fo himself in Milan, Italy where she originated a role in the world premiere of “La Storia Di Qu,” for the Milan International Expo. In their Hollywood Fringe debut, Fiasco! presents “Death and the Fool,” a collection of four short stories brought to life by Yulie Archontaki, Kent Jenkins and Moses Norton.

Fiasco! is an absurdist, physical theatre company that specializes in ensemble creation and immersion-based theatrical events. The ensemble members are all graduates of Dell’Arte International and are highly trained in improvisation, acrobatics, physical theatre, dance, music and spectacle.
