SMORGASBORD is a one-woman show Created and Performed by Janet Chamberlain, and Directed by Darryl Johnson. Anneli Olafson has devoted her life to being a 4H leader. She has won the Minnesota State Competition for 4H Leader Demonstrations, and is representing her state at the Iowa State Fair. In the course of demonstrating how to cook a Swedish Smorgasbord, she begins to unravel as the preparation of each dish ignites memories of a dysfunctional past. Determined not to be undone, Anneli cooks her way to sanity. LAUGH, CRY, EAT.
This piece was created through improvisations. It was performed in 2010 in The Kitchen Plays series at The Road Theatre. During the course of the play, a full meal is cooked on stage and food is served to the audience afterward. VALET PARKING AVAILABLE
