Shattered Glass Workshop

events & workshops · shattered glass show · Ages 16+ · United States of America

Taking its participants on a journey from experiencing a unique multi-media stage presentation consisting of live poetry, music, and visual art, to reacting and discussing its impact, to then creating and presenting their own works of art as therapeutic tools, this workshop helps build and develop core social-emotional competencies that ultimately lead to improved self-image and productive action. Participants will 1. Identify their preferred art form- poetry, prose, song, visual art, or dance; 2. identify one key challenge in their life and at least one success story birthed from that challenge, and 3. Integrate their Victim to Victor story and chosen art form into a unique performance piece. SHATTERED GLASS engages the use of art as an instrument for successfully overcoming oppression and finding strength, healing, and empowerment in life. This is an introductory workshop intensive.

The workshop will take place in the Shepard Studio at the Complex Hollywood, 6476 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90038.**
