What I liked
What Conan the Barbarian was to High Fantasy, The Leftovers is to Mid-Life Crisis Fantasy. No, that’s too kind. SHORTREVIEW #2: A book so OK it hurts. ANOTHERSHORTY: I liked this better the first time, when it was called American Beauty. LONGREVIEW: Reading this book was like heading down a playground slide made of glass.

My overall impression
I just finished reading the book for the first time after having seen the show (twice), and personally I really enjoyed it. I love the character dynamics, blossom word game, and Perrotta does a great job of giving us insight into each character’s innermost thoughts. If you haven’t yet read the book but are considering it, I would definitely say go for it. Thought I would break down the most noteworthy differences between the book and the show here. (Obviously, for those of you who don’t know, Season 1 of the show ends where the book does
