What I liked
I loved that this was done with an all female cast. Every single woman brought so much talent to the stage. I will watch Alli Miller pull hair out of a wig and cry for hours.
What I didn't like
I didn’t know going in that it was a jukebox musical after seeing original music in Dr. Nympho, but it didn’t matter. The covers were utilized really cleverly with telling the story of The Craft and the vocalists knocked each and every song out of the park. Plus it makes it sometimes more fun to know the song that’s playing.
My overall impression
I’m convinced I’ll watch the ladies at Cherry Poppins literally do anything. I’ve been telling a lot of my theater friends who aren’t familiar with them that a Cherry Poppins show is the most fun I’ve had in a long time. It’s so impressive to see such good dancing, vocals, comedic chops, and sexy all in one place – on the tiny Three Clubs stage no less. I’m so glad I got to know this company through Fringe!
