The foley, spot on radio announcer voice, & live music all work well to capture the feel of the old radio shows. There’s a great horrific twist at the end of the second story that I didn’t see coming! It’s also interesting from a historical perspective how both of these stories have an underlying unease about the power imbalance in a highly patriarchal society. What happens when the father figure/husband that one is supposed to defer to behaves in way that is mentally unhinged and dangerous?
What I didn't like
The “theater” is somewhat limited in terms of what they can do in terms of the lighting. They do what they can with what they have at their disposal, but a proper black box theater’s lighting would add more to the atmosphere.
My overall impression
If you enjoy old time radio shows with a horror bent, like Light’s Out, The Hermit’s Cave, etc. this play does a great job of bringing a couple of those old stories to life.
