What I liked
The show never sits still too long, jumping from one scene to the next with agility, the cast is stellar, the costumes are spot-on and there are many moments where you’ll laugh and then ask yourself, ‘Wow, am I a bad person for laughing at that?’
What I didn't like
Might need some trimming, not because it felt long but because of the time constraints of Fringe, there’s not a lot of wiggle-room to allow some of the jokes and comedy to play out. But that’d only apply to a Fringe performance, in a regular setting without a time limit it wouldn’t be a problem.
My overall impression
Delightful fun for anyone who absolutely loves Jane Austen or Frankenstein or secretly hates Jane Austen or Frankenstein! There’s something for everyone (except anyone who wants a deep, serious take on Regency literature), fun performances from a gifted ensemble, silly endearing songs and non-stop jokes and one-liners. For a light, breezy fun time, check it out!
